ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

 

The Economic Development Committee advocates for and supports business retention, expansion and development. The team is represented by a cross section of business and community leaders focused on improved commerce and continued business growth in DeSoto. The general purpose of the team is to:

 

• Identify the challenges and opportunities associated with doing business in the DeSoto market;
• Define and implement a program for business retention;
• Develop a program to support business expansion, relocation and startup;
• Collaborate with community business development groups to implement an effective business development plan; and
• Open and improve communications between business and local government in the enhancement of local business processes.

 

The Economic Development Committee meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chamber Office.
